Interlude: Footlights and that…

That Mitchell and Webb are a bit posh. This is hardly a secret as lots of comedy personnel are also fans of the sun-dreied tomato and pesto lifestyle. Because of their posh and funny status they must have gone to Cambridge and been involved in that Footlights thing, right? Of course. It supplied posh funny people to the telly box world every blinkin’ year! A whole load of Pythons and Goodies were there, as was sci-fi comedy writer Douglas Adams. In the early 1980s it made Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and Tony Slattery and then in the 1990s it made a lot of people with ties to That Mitchell And Webb Look.
