Bruiser is coming…

Bruiser is coming to DVD!

What do you mean, you don’t remember Bruiser?

It’s the sketch show starring David, Rob and Olivia plus Martin Freeman, that unfunny man from Garth Merenghi and a lady whose name I forgot. It featured such oddities as the odd James Bond and Q type characters played by David and Robert with rubbish weapons, a bizarre man played by Martin Freeman who did all sorts of social faux pas such as accidentally cottaging and stalking, an odd presenter claled Sasha Solomon played by Olivia, and the Outdoor Wee man played by Garth Merenghi man. And the rubbish goths of course. It also featured that character who got recycled for the recent live tour. You’ll know who I mean if you were there. Or saw the DVD. Anyway…
Bruiser
Play describes it as : ‘A fast-paced sketch show performed by an energetic young team with much potential. The sketches were dark and zany, the preferred style of the times, and covered traditional themes (James Bond spoofs, paranoia) as well as contemporary subjects (satirising BBC satellite channels and youth programming), all to varying degrees of success. One memorable recurring sketch featured two young TV executives pitching ridiculous ideas for shows (extreme variations and hybrids of existing series) to a commissioning editor intent only on accepting productions featuring the presenter Alan Titchmarsh. Another regular spot, Outdoor Wee, featured celebrities who were interviewed while urinating alfresco.’

Due for release on 04/06/2007
