That Sherlock sketch
Well the Sherlock sketch went down rather well on Twitter. Two rather great writers who I follow on there tweeted about it so deserve a mention:
Tony Lee currently writes the Doctor Who comic and James MoranĀ has written Doctor Who onĀ the telly plus some good Torchwood episodes:

Yeah, that was a weird one. Unexpectedly emotionally affecting, somehow. Funny how they can wring that sort of response out of you, out of the blue, never having tried it before.

This is their “Blackadder Goes Forth” moment. I never thought they would seriously do it. Somehow, it’s more harrowing than Blackadder’s, possibly because it’s something that may well happen to us (as opposed to the events of the “Great War”, which won’t).

For me i came home to me as my nan has dementia. I can see the funny side as well as the sad and i thought this was done and handled really well.

That completely blew me away.. I knew the guys were good actors, but thats sealed it.. It didnt so much remind me of Blackadder as the fast show “Rowley” sketch where he talks about his wife dying.. but of course done much better!
very unexpected, and very moving.
I was clearly moved or I wouldnt have put the effort into Googling the sketch to make a comment about it!
